Bu Von Blume is funk. Bu Von Blume is disco. Bu Von Blume is cumbia, punk, ska, soul, Balkan. Whatever it takes to get the people moving and grooving, really. Vancouver Island multi-instrumentalist Lou Kinglish (normally an accordion player) teamed up with some of the heaviest hitting funk, brass, jazz and punk virtuosos around to create Bu Von Blume; a band that mixes hilarious theatre antics with downright dangerous bass and horn lines to cook up a real dance fiasco.

Their sound is rooted in the traditional Irish, Scottish and English music that many love, and features carefully crafted arrangements, rhythmic spirited energy and captivating storytelling. Clanna Morna focuses on telling the stories of those less fortunate throughout history; the rebels, underdogs, women, and queer people whose voices were silenced. Danny Bell and His Disappointments

Danny Bell and His Disappointments play Northern BC folk/country/punk with infections charm.  Based in British Columbia on unceded Lhedli T’enneh territory, Danny’s music is regional. It’s steeped in his affection for his home in the hinterland, a blue collar town, the stink of the pulp mill, and everyday life in Northern BC. Bell’s songs toe the line between tragedy and comedy.

Highland Eyeway

Lucid, psychedelic dreamscapes evoked by Highland Eyeway draw the listener into other-wordly dimensions. Highland Eyeway was conceived in North Vancouver, Canada (traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tseil-Waututh First Peoples) in September 2014. Influenced by mystical forest canyons with pulsing moss-covered trees that hold secrets for its dwellers, the band aims to acknowledge these patterns by reflecting them in sound. Bands like Swervedriver, Soundgarden, Dinosaur Jr., The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and Stereolab, along with experimental themes produced by Boards of Canada helped shape Highland Eyeway’s tone and deliverance.

Aspen King is a music producer/DJ who grew up on Cortes Island, BC. She has been immersed in music for the majority of her life. Coming from a techno & house background, over the years she has acquired an immense taste in electronic music. Aspen studied electronic music production in Vancouver and has applied what she has learned into her productions with her own unique twist.

Shelder the Electric Clamfish

Shelder the Electric Clamfish is a multi-instrumentalist and storyteller residing on the traditional, unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples, specifically the Hul’qumi’num and SENCOTEN speaking peoples. She performs her eclectic-art-folk compositions, drawing inspiration from her travels as a musician and from historical Canadian legends and folk tales. After residing in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Shelder began incorporating traditional East-coast music into her own compositions, blending familiar sounds with a new deep-sea folk-punk energy.

KSAR

KSAR is an ever evolving collective of musicians formed in 2021 in Victoria BC. Accordion and voice is supported by guitars, bass, trumpet, mandolin, drums, and synth. Strong Balkan, middle eastern dance and afrobeat influences are interlaced with contemporary pop, indie rock, and chamber folk styles. The live show is colourful and exuberant, fun, danceable and emotionally charged. Lyrical themes seek to inspire positive change while touching on difficult topics such as the homeless crisis, and the loneliness epidemic… Raising important questions about our current way of life, while participating in a vibrant celebration of it is what KSAR is.

April Dawn Brass

April Dawn Brass is Swampy Cree from Opaskwayak Cree Nation, she has been makin’ stuff and doin’ stuff in the Comox Valley, BC since September 2005 and now calls it  home.  April is an interdisciplinary artist, arts administrator, advocate and event producer.  She has been honing her various skills in the arts since she was small and believes in leading with the intentions of the future.

April loves to play guitar and sing, it is healing.  She also loves to jam the spoons.

DJ Lion aka Levi is a 10 year old DJ who has been attending music festivals since in the womb. He was raised listening to music like the Funk Hunters & Neon Steve. Levi plays all instruments naturally well, but has recently fell in love with electronic music. He started mixing house music when his moms friend lent him a pioneer controller in November of 2022. Aspen King nannied Levi and his little bro, in that time she shared a bunch of her originals and other various house tracks with him and showed him the ropes.

Sound Seed Yoga

Sarah Sopracolle, Quadra Island local, intuitive sound healer and owner of Sound Seed Yoga, shares sonic sessions inspired by Nada Yoga (the yoga of sound) and vibrational medicine. These mostly passive practices are conducive to deep relaxation and powerful experiences. 

Sarah uses singing bowls, shamanic drumming, her voice and a multitude of sound medicine instruments to assist in journeying, expanding consciousness and connection to all that is.
